October 14, 2025 OneNote 2016 will be retired and Microsoft will end support

On April 15, 2024, Microsoft employees announced in a blog post that Office 2016 and Office 2019 will be retired at the same time on October 14, 2025.

What does end of support mean?

All of the above applications and servers (including Office 2016, Office 2019) will reach the end of support (EOS) on October 14, 2025. After this end date, Microsoft will no longer provide security fixes, bug fixes, or technical support.
